If you all recall, I photographed Nigel and Ruby’s engagement in Canmore this past spring and they were planning a destination wedding this fall. They’re still planning that destination wedding this fall BUT I got a text this past Saturday asking if I’d like to attend their wedding on Monday. Whaaat?! Nigel and Ruby spontaneously decided to have a civil ceremony and folks, it’s amazing what you can pull together in two days when you want to.
It was a simple, intimate ceremony at Heritage Ranch with a handful of their closest friends overlooking the river valley. The weather was warm and sunny. There were sparkles everywhere spilling from the tulle ribbon decor. The bride and groom were relaxed. (And maybe a little bit teary-eyed, right Nigel?) What a happy, comfortable way to spend a summer evening.
While they’re still planning an amazing tropical wedding in a couple of months, I’m glad for here and now in familiar places too..png)
