The day of Heather and Kevin’s wedding dawned hot and cloudless. It had been a week filled with thunderstorms but we somehow evaded the storms and instead had a gorgeous, sunny day. Heather and her bridesmaids drank coffee and got ready at her friend’s beautiful home in Red Deer. Just like at the engagement session, Heather made sure to wear the blue pendant necklace that Kevin had given her when they first started dating. It fit the fun, vibrant vibe she was going for with a whole lot of country mixed in.
I thought that Kevin’s family farm was beautiful last fall but it is just as beautiful in the summer. We met there (with a rowdy bridal party!) for portraits and kept to the shade as much as possible. Heather and Kevin had even created a “bale pyramid” for photos of the bridal party. So cool!
As for the reception, shredded pork and beef sandwiches were served up by All Seasons Pig Roast and Bar-B-Q and you can only imagine how amazing it smelled AND tasted. By the time everyone had eaten and had a few drinks, they were ready to dance. Juiced Audio threw on the DJ lights and this bridal party seriously tore up the dance floor. I wasn’t surprised in the least when some intense line dancing broke out. I know for a fact that Kevin and Heather love going dancing so they needed no encouragement to get out there and dance.
I loved spending the day with all of you. Thank you for the crazy dancing and the tasty dinner! Heather and Kevin – I hope you’re thoroughly enjoying your brand new marriage. Have fun on your honeymoon this winter and don’t forget to think of us shivering at home while you soak up rays by the pool.
