Carlee & Jeremy, September 17, 2016

I will warn you now.  If you’re hungry, looking through this wedding will only make you hungrier.  I promise you’ll be craving pancakes and sausages.

Carlee and Jeremy created the most unique wedding day I’ve ever attended, much less photographed.  They chose to have a morning ceremony followed by brunch for all of the guests at the rustic, funky Watipi Lodge near Blackfalds.  Guests munched on the cereal bar until Carlee and Jeremy arrived to personally serve every last one with sausages and heart-shaped pancakes – complete with a ton of toppings and whipped cream, of course.  It was amazing.  Carlee infused the rustic atmosphere with shades of gold, flowers, and fun.  Every guest was given a mug to decorate and take home while the tables were covered in paper and crayons for coloring.  Are you feeling the lighthearted celebratory vibe?  She even twirled him at the end of their first dance.

The wedding day itself was incredibly relaxed and silly with toddlers running amok, adding a special level of chaos and adorableness.  I found myself following the kids around for those magic photos of them being completely themselves.  We had snack breaks, runaways at the ceremony, spontaneous dancing at the reception, tantrums, and super cute floral crowns.  No one batted an eye.

I was fortunate to end my day with Carlee and Jeremy with some quiet time and portraits in the gorgeous fall foliage near Burbank in Blackfalds.  They picked the perfect weekend – warm and colourful.  When we parted ways, they were headed back to the lodge for relaxation, lawn games, a fire pit and BBQ with family, and comfy clothes.

Carlee and Jeremy, I hope that evening was fantastic and you got to steal every precious second with your loved ones that you could.  Thank you for including me in such an awesome day!

All portraits taken at the Lacombe Research Centre and Burbank Park.
