Photographing another photographer, let alone her wedding day, let alone her wedding day that she’s been dreaming about for years and years is…nerve-wracking. That being said, this day was amazing and Chelsea was thoughtful, intentional, and sweet.
The colours were feminine and vintage but Chelsea took them one step further by incorporating small details like her grandmother’s wedding ring tied into her bouquet and the heirloom string of pearls around her neck. She had a special vision for her day where family felt loved and included and the details were also sentimental. The ceremony ended with a symbolic butterfly release and one little butterfly chose to rest on Chelsea’s shoulder for a little while.
There were tears but there was also a ton of laughter. (Cue full frontal nudity of the groom during childhood slideshow. Twice. Say what?)
Duke, their faithful dog, had a role during the wedding day as well as the ring bearer/groomsman. He sat patiently throughout the ceremony, looking sharp in his little pink bowtie.
Chelsea and Reto approached the day as prepared as possible and then chose to relax no matter how the day was going. If you know Chelsea, she loves to laugh and I caught so many candid little moments of laughter between them. By the end of the day, with slight sunburns, they were still fresh and ready for more portraits. We headed down to Meridian Beach for some final moments and they were gorgeous. Scroll down. You’ll see.
Chelsea and Reto, I had the most amazing time with you and I’ll never forget cramming into your super cool, red vintage truck in between you and riding down the road together. I wish I’d stopped to take a few selfies at that moment. I enjoyed the day immensely and I hope I see a lot more of you. To many more adventures!
