Final Ice Fishing Trip of the Winter

It’s been the longest winter that I can remember, but somehow, this was the only ice fishing trip that I managed to squeeze in.  Where did our incredibly long winter go???

As the ice was turning slushy already, this weekend was my last chance to go.  Myself, my husband, and my bro-in-law headed out to Gull Lake for a full Sunday of ice fishing.  I didn’t dare bring my camera – fishing is wet, messy business – but we snagged a couple of phone shots.  I managed to catch 4 perch and 2 pike, which is my best haul ever.  We kept a few of the perch and a whitefish that my husband, Jesse, caught.  It’s true what they say.  Perch is delicious.

Cheddar knows the rules and this was as close as she dared get to the fish.  She and Blue are cute, though, so they got scraps after.
