Shania & Mark Lake Engagement Session

Shania and Mark are very intentional people.  They intentionally picked the specific weekend they wanted for their engagement pictures because they knew it would be perfect for leafy colourful goodness.  (September 19th, people!  Remember this for next year!)  They intentionally brought a canoe to the session.  They intentionally paddled it all over Magee Lake while I ran along the shoreline shouting stuff and pointing my camera at them.  This resulted in some of my favourite images of the year.  I love everything about this session – colour, sunshine, sweetness, and fun!

I’m very much looking forward to what their wedding has in store come next August.  Shania and Mark adore each other but in a way that you don’t mind being the third wheel.  They’re comfortable like that.

So sometimes to mix things up, I’ll ask a couple to dance.  Usually this means slow dancing, resulting in intimate, cuddly portraits.  When I asked Shania and Mark if they ever danced, they said something like, “All the time!” and launched into super awesome dancing that included a little bit of this…

Call me impressed.  I may have made them do it more than once.  Just to be sure.
